Do I need a referral?

Physiotherapists are primary health practitioners and do not require a referral from your GP to access an appointment. However, if your GP or specialist has referred you specifically please forward any relevant letters prior to your appointment, or bring them on the day. ​

Can Medicare subsidise my treatment?

Generally, Medicare doesn’t cover Physiotherapy. However, for chronic conditions, Medicare can provide up to 5 allied health visits per year through the Chronic Disease Management (CDM) scheme (previously known as Enhanced Primary Care, EPC). To access this scheme, your GP needs to find your eligible and then needs to provide a referral to the physiotherapist.

What is involved in a pelvic floor assessment?

Following a thorough assessment, an examination of the area may be needed.

An assessment can be internal (either vaginal or rectal), external (including through clothing if preferred) or through the use of real time ultrasound and the choice is up to you!

Can I bring my baby to the appointment?

Yes! Babies and children are welcome.

Can I claim my private health rebates for physio treatment?

If you have extras cover with your Private Health Insurance, you will may be able to receive a rebate towards your physiotherapy consultation. The amount you receive is dependent on your level of cover, so contact your insurer for more details.
